Native to wetlands along running streams, the Bald Cypress is a moderately fast-growing tree that can be a beautiful addition to any property. When mature, Bald Cypresses develop into a broad-topped, spreading, open specimen. These trees can grow to be 100-150 feet in height, and can reach 40-50 feet in 15-25 years. Although they are native to wetlands, they tend to grow quicker in moist, well-drained soils. The flowers and fruit are not showy sights. The flowers are brown and droopy, the rounded fruits are green then brown in maturity. Some birds and squirrels can be attracted to the fruit. The real showstopper for the Bald Cypress is the deciduous leaves. In the spring and summer, they are a pretty green, in the fall the transform into a vibrant copper.

At Chestnut Hill Outdoors, we’ve been shipping mail order trees for over 30 years. We’re experts at delivering healthy trees to your doorstep. All of our trees are container grown in root-enhancing pots, ensuring healthy root systems and much better success upon planting.

In Spring we ship bare-root, dormant trees. All plants are dipped in a root gel before shipping and wrapped in plastic to retain moisture.
