Deer Candy Persimmons are grafted American female persimmons and will bear fruit in 2-3 years depending on the care and climate they receive. Medium sized persimmon, 1.25-1.5″ long. Fruit has nutty flavor and ripens early. You can eat persimmons fresh, dried, or cooked. They are also commonly used around the world in jellies, drinks, pies, curries, and puddings. Very productive, drops fruit between late August through October depending on variety and climate. Cold hardy to USDA plant zones 5-9.
